  • The wards of any differently-abled person can apply for this scholarship if they have an officially issued Identification card provided by the welfare board.

4. Deceased Government Servants Scholarship

To provide financial assistance for the students belonging to the parents who are deceased, the Directorate of Collegiate Education took an initiation along with the state Government of Tamil Nadu for bringing up this scheme.

The wards of deceased government servants who died in harness are the only ones that are eligible for this scholarship.

The only eligible people in this scheme are the students studying in the Indian Military colleges in Dehradun only.

6. Scholarship for PhD: 

This scheme is an initiation brought up by the Directorate of Collegiate Education and the State Government of Tamil Nadu for the students who are pursuing a Ph.D. at well-reputed universities.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The students pursuing the first year, second year or third year of full-time Ph.D. research from a government or government-aided college of arts and science can be the eligible students that can apply for this scheme.
  • The applicant must have scored 60% marks in a postgraduation.

Eligibility Criteria:

The applicant must be a girl student

They must be pursuing post-graduate level degree courses from a well-known college in the state.

8. Free Education Schemes for BC, MBC & DNC students

This scheme is run by the Department of Backward Classes along with the help of the State Government of Tamil Nadu to support the students from the financially backward classes or from a poor background.

Eligibility criteria:

  • The students must be belonging to BC/MBC/DNC category
  • They must be pursuing a 3-year degree or polytechnic diploma course or a professional degree course.
  • The annual income of the family should not be more than INR 50,000.

Application Process:

  • The student must go to the official district office of Backward Classes and Minority Welfare and fill some forms which will be given there.
  • Attach all the required documents that might be needed for verification.

Rewards:

The reward for this scheme is like a subsidiary for Tuition fees, examination fees, special fees, and other compulsory fees.

9. Incentive Scheme for Rural MBC/DNC Girl Students

  • The girl students must be belonging to an MBC / DNC category
  • They must be pursued in a school in the classes between 3rd to 6th Only.
  • The annual income of the family should not be more than INR 25,000.

Rewards: 

The girl students for classes 3rd, 4th and 5th would be given yearly a sum of Rs.500 an for the 6th standard girl students a sum of Rs. 1000 would be given.

10. Thanthai Periyar Memorial Award

This scheme is run by the Department of Backward Classes along with the help of the State Government of Tamil Nadu to support the students from the top class of the students from each district of Tami Nadu.

Eligibility Criteria: 

  • The students must be belonging to BC/MBC/DNC category
  • The students must be the top tow girl and boy from each district of the state in the 12th class exams.
  • They must be also willing to pursue further studies in any of the professional degree colleges.

The two top students would receive Rs.3000 per annum for three years continuously.

11. Perarignar Anna Memorial Award

This scheme is run by the Department of Backward Classes along with the help of the State Government of Tamil Nadu to support the students from the financially backward classes or from a poor background.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The student must be pursuing any professional degree course in engineering, Medical, and other fields.
  • The students must be belonging to BC/MBC/DNC category only.

Application Process:

  • The student must go to the official district office of Backward Classes and Minority Welfare and fill some forms which will be given there.
  • Attach all the required documents that might be needed for verification.

Rewards: 

The selected applicant/ student would receive a sum of Rs. 3000 per annum for four years continuously.

12. Vidhyadhan Scholarship Program: 

This scheme is funded by a private organization named Sarojini Damodaran Foundation for the students from not only Tamil Nadu state, but also for the students belonging to other states like Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Gujarat, Karnataka, and Telangana.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The students must be the residents of the above-mentioned states. They must hold a permanent residency in that particular state.
  • The student must have completed their 10th Class examinations and should be pursued for their further studies.
  • The annual income of their family must not exceed more than Rs.2,00,000.

Application Process:

13. National Talent Search Exam (NTSE)

We all know the national council NCRET which stands for National Council of Education Research and Training which provides students with many beneficiary schemes to help them in their educational needs. Well, National Talent Search Exam (NTSE) is also one of the schemes brought up by the council to aid the students in need.

Eligibility Criteria:

Any student above 18 years of age are the only ones that are eligible for this scheme. The students must be studying above the 10th class.

The student must go to the respective state liaison officer and apply through the offline process only.

Rewards:

There are different rewards to the students ranging from different Classes.

  • The students for the 11th and 12th classes would receive an annual amount of Rs. 15,000 i.e. Rs.1,250 each month.
  • The students in graduate-level courses would receive Rs. 24,000 annually, i.e. Rs. 2000 per each month.
  • The students in the Ph.D. level courses would receive an amount specified by UGC.
